SUCCESS AT SUNSET

Several months ago students in Beaverton started planning for an event to reach their peirs with the gospel. After months of hard work and fundraising the day arrived. They went all out, the event had music, skateboarding, giveaways and more. I was invited by my good friend and partner in ministry Reid Saunders to lead worship with my band Perelux. With a start time of 6:30 PM there were over 2000 students all over the campus of Sunset high school. The music started and kids packed their way into the auditorium. After several bands and a skate expo, Reid shared the hope of Jesus Christ. We lead in Worship as students made their way to the cross at the front of the stage signifying they were comiting their lives to Christ. 150 students gave their hearts to Christ. GLORY TO GOD!!!! What else is there to live for than to know Christ and make him known!

Concert in Maffia run club in Chishnau, Moldova

Well here is the Lowdown (with regards to GME) for all of you passionate about spreading the renown of Jesus Christ! Mission Moldova was amazing. We arrived on a saturday and were put to work immediately. We ministered in a church on Sunday morning and even presented them with a new worship song, written for them.............IN THEIR LANGUAGE!!!! One of the guys on our team, Dave Lubben is very talented and gifted with songwriting and after a successful trip to Uganda I encouraged him that we should we be doing more in the indigenous language. He has taken it to the next level and began writing songs in each country we go to specifically for that body.

Monday - Thursday we were working with the local worship teams by teaching them the theology of worship and musicianship in the church setting. We also went into several schools and did "mini concerts" to get them to come to a weekend evangelistic concert. Thursday night we took over this Mafia run club and had over 500 moldovan believers gather together for worship concert. The next night in the same club we had 1200 students mostly nonbelievers pack out the club while hearing a rock concert and the life changing truth of Jesus Christ. Hundreds responded to the gospel and hundreds of seeds were planted.

The same week we arrived back in the US we packed are bags and drove up to Wanatchee,WA. In our ongoing preparation for the festival in October with Jose Zayas, we lead worship for a youth evangelism training seminar. To our surprise many of the students brought their friends who were not Christians. Jose being sensitive to the Lord asked if there was anyone who would like to commit their life to following Christ and leading others to him as well. Over 50 students raised their hands to commit their lives to Christ and over a thousand were committed to share the gospel with someone within 48 hours.

Only a week later my band Perelux (www.perelux.com) joined with Chi Alpha and other Christian ministries and did an outreach to Portland State University. The response was very good. One guy said "this is the best band I've heard in the park blocks". We were so grateful to be a part of the AWESOME team of leaders in Jaime Harris the Varis' and others. Their work takes time to see fruit so we are happy to join them in their labor for souls!

This weekend Perelux will be joining the Christian youth of Beaverton in a student lead festival for high schoolers. One of my evangelist partners and Luis Palau partners Reid Saunders will be giving a message of hope. Perelux will lead worship and others will entertain and challenge the students through music. Please be praying!

          ON THE HORIZON

In just a few months GME will be joining Jose Zayas and Focus on the Family for an outreach to Panama City, Panama. Please be praying for this dynamic outreach. Our hope is to get into many schools and even bars and clubs to share the gospel. There is a budget of $2750 for this outreach. If the you would like to contribute to this awesome opportunity to reach Panama please send me an email (jjonbur@gmail.com) or send checks to:

Thank you all for your encouragement, financial support and prayers. We will continue to reach people through music to the glory of God.

Seeing And Savoring Jesus Christ

I completely forgot to post the Wanatchee, WA pre festival news. Two weeks ago I joined Dave Lubben (www.davelubben.com) Jose zayas and Luis Palau for a missions conference in Wanachee, WA. The goal of the missions conference was to highten an awareness for missions and evangelism and point the way by announcing an evangelistic festival with Jose Zayas for the fall. The church hostin the festival wanted to raise 100,000 dollars for the festival. By the third day only 10,000 had been raised but by the end of the final evening 106,000 had been raised!!! We were and are so excited to be apart of what God is doing in central washington. Many people were called to go on the mission field both here and abroad. Praise God that he knows what is up and we can trust and follow His leading. I had a very unfortunate event happen last week. The hard drive on my computer crashed and they were unable to recover my data. It could cost up to $2500 dollars to send the drive in and have it rebuilt to save the data. I totally trust the Lord's sovereignty but also recognize that he says make your requests known. So I am praying that God would bring in the money for me to have this fixed and that all of the data would be recovered. I am in Los Angeles right now visiting and writing with my good friend Jerry Salas. I will be heading home tonight and will be starting to work on several projects. Grace Community has asked my band Perelux (check out our new website www.perelux.com) to join them by doing the music for their easter production. My band will also be going into the studio to do some recording for centricity records. All in all it will be a busy month with session work, live gigs, and planning for a outreach to Moldova April 3-13th. Once again please pray that the finances would come in for the hard drive and that all the info will be recovered.

Thank you all so much for your prayers. I arrived home today at 12:00PM exausted with joy! We had a very fruitful last couple of days. We ministered in a few churches and in all over 20 people came to Christ. We now have relationships with churches and leaders to do some very large evangelistic events next year when we go back. Continue to pray for the people that came to Christ and for the churches and pastors in Brasil. May our goal truly be to spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all people through Jesus Christ.
